The line represents the central element of the artist’s visual expression. Through a technically refined approach, she constructs scenes by densely layering countless lines, which ultimately create the illusion of remarkably vivid close-up depictions of coniferous tree canopy fragments – framing those parts of the whole that are drawn to the sky’s light. Through the hypnotic undulation of organic branch forms, one can symbolically sense a connection between the material and the spiritual. In her spatial installations, Tina Konec sometimes arranges individual elements from her self-contained cycles into interrelated, coexisting parts that together form a unified whole – like an inverted map of forest expanses.
