While wandering through nature, the artist often photographs motifs that later serve as sketches for her drawings. In the Fog series was created under the impression of winter mists, which evoke a subtle play of layering and overlapping. The artist discovered that a similar effect could be achieved through the use of tracing paper, which allows for the layering and shading of drawn motifs. Rather than copying the photographs, she uses personal interpretation and innovations within traditional drawing techniques to create artworks in which nature is rendered in a distinctive and convincing manner. At its core, her drawing practice preserves a deep reverence for nature, whose sensitivity is reflected on paper. With a seemingly universal aesthetic, the works subtly draw attention to the fragility of transience. Tree canopies and delicate branches often extend beyond the format, while the layering of images and shadowed elements invites a play of associations. In some works, the artist places a drawing with a concrete motif beneath tracing paper covered with drawn branches. This creates an effect of almost suspended presence – as if the chosen scenes were torn out of the flow of time.
